Frnd4u (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a friendship platform for adults (18+) in India that helps you meet new people in your city and language through chat and video calls. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to this Policy.
Frnd4u is strictly for users aged 18 years and above. We verify your age using the date of birth you provide during registration. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will suspend and delete it.
• Account details: your name, date of birth, gender, and email address or phone number.
• Profile content: your bio, interests, preferred language, city, and the photos you upload.
• Verification data: the live selfie you submit for identity verification (used only to confirm it matches your profile photo).
• Location: with your permission, your approximate location to auto-suggest your city and language. You can decline and pick manually.
• Communications: messages you send in chats, and metadata about calls (such as duration) for billing.
• Payment data: membership and wallet transactions are processed by our payment partner (PayU). We store transaction references and status, not your full card details.
• Device & usage data: app interactions, profile views, and basic diagnostics.
We use your information to create and manage your account, show you relevant friends by city and language, enable chat and video calls, verify identity and enforce our 18+ rule, process payments for membership and video-call wallet usage, keep the community safe (reports, blocks, moderation), and improve the app.
When you request the verified badge, your live selfie is compared with your profile photo using an automated vision system to confirm you are a real person and that the photos match. The selfie is used only for this check and is not shown to other users.
Live video and audio calls are powered by a third-party real-time communications provider (Agora). Call media is transmitted to connect you with the other person; we do not record your calls. We store limited metadata (such as call duration) to calculate per-minute charges.
Membership (a recurring monthly plan) and video-call wallet top-ups are handled by PayU, a licensed payment aggregator in India. Your payment credentials are entered on PayU’s secure checkout and are governed by PayU’s privacy policy. If you enable auto-renewal, a payment mandate is stored with PayU to charge your membership until you cancel.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with: service providers who help us operate the app (payments, video calling, cloud storage, AI verification); other users, limited to your public profile (name, age, city, language, bio, interests, photo, verification and presence status); and authorities when required by law or to protect users’ safety.
You can edit or remove your profile details and photos at any time, change or turn off location access in your device settings, block or report other users, cancel auto-renewal, and request deletion of your account. To delete your account or exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and safety obligations. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
The app is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified within the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
